ZAI President’s End-of-Year Reflections – December 2024

Dear ZAI Family,

As we close another remarkable year, I reflect with immense pride on the strides Zimbabwe Accountants International (ZAI) has made in 2024. This year has been a testament to the dedication, vision, and hard work of our members and leadership team. Here are some of our significant achievements this year:

1. Professional Development & Networking

• Hosted engaging Zoom Calls with industry leaders:

• September: Taurai Books

• September: Jamboo with Takwana

• November: KF Properties with Karen

• Organized the 3rd ZAI Annual Ball in Ireland—a memorable night of celebration and networking.

2. Innovative Platforms & Community Engagement

• Launched the ZAI Blogs, providing insightful articles for professional growth.

• Introduced the ZAI YouTube Channel and TikTok to reach a broader audience with creative and educational content.

• Expanded communication through the ZAI ZBC WhatsApp Group, fostering deeper engagement within our community.

• Published ZAI Adverts on our WhatsApp channel, enhancing visibility and member participation.

3. Strategic Partnerships

• Finalised a Partnership MOU with IAPAZ, strengthening our global network.

• Secured a partnership with Nyaradzo, broadening ZAI’s support for its members.

4. Compliance & Organisational Development

• Submitted our Accounts and Tax Returns to Companies House and HMRC on time, showcasing ZAI’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

• Conducted a successful Committee Renewal in October 2024, ensuring continuity and fresh perspectives within our leadership.

5. Media & Growth Highlights

• Featured in a news article on NewZimbabwe.com, raising ZAI’s profile.

• Recorded the ZAI Podcast in collaboration with AFIN Bank—a milestone in amplifying our voice in the accounting and finance industry.

• Witnessed incredible membership growth, from 880 in January 2024 to an astounding 1,400 by December 2024.

These achievements are a reflection of what we can accomplish when we work together as a community. I am deeply grateful to every member, sponsor, and partner for your contributions. As we move into 2025, let’s continue to build on this momentum, striving to make ZAI an even more impactful and inclusive organization.
